Aston Villa go into this match with a clear message from their boss Paul Lambert – win and win by two clear goals without reply!

That scenario would have Villa phoning up their tailor to place an order for a squadful of fancy suits as they’d be Wembley bound.

Anything else and there could trouble ahead for Villa and their boss Lambert!

There is a real possibility that this match will go into extra-time and either being decided on the away goal rule or even ‘the dreaded’ penalty kicks to see who’ll be heading for London for the Capital One League Cup Final on the 24th of February.

Two first half strikes from Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor helped grab a point away to rivals West Brom at the weekend and pull Villa out of the relegation drop zone.

Villa’s first half display must have been pleasing for Lambert and their suffering fans but they couldn’t maintain that form and visibly dissapeared in the second half. Villa, in the end, were thankful for the point.

Bradford City’s game against Port Vale was postponed after falling foul of the weather at the weekend. The Bantams new signing Michael Nelson from Kilmarnock could feature with Nathan Baker still struggling with a hamstring injury.

Bet 365 have Aston Villa at 2/5 to win the match and 11/10 to qualify.

Bradford City are a best bet of 7/1 with William Hill to win on Tuesday night and Stan James are offering 4/5 that they’ll become the first fourth tier side since 1961 to reach a League Cup Final.

Skybet are offering 3/1 that Aston villa will win by 2 clear goals and 9/4 to win by 3 goals or more.
